Christmas Scotties - Digi Stamp Project

Hi Everyone
It's Mags here with a new digi stamp project.  Today I have used the cute Christmas Scotties with Cracker image which can be found here.

At Christmas I enjoy making my own table decorations etc.  As soon as I saw this image I thought it would be perfect for making cracker shaped place cards.

Supplies Used
Christmas Scotties with Cracker digi stamp
White card
Black card
Promarkers for colouring the image
Ribbon bow

Step by Step
1.  Print out the digi image to fit onto a piece of white card measuring 5.5cm x 12cm.  Lisa has done a great tutorial here on how to resize and print your digi images using Word.

2.  Colour the image using promarkers or any colouring medium of your choice.

3.  Trim the white card with the image on into the shape of a christmas cracker and then mount onto some black card.

4.  Trim around the black card into the cracker shape leaving a small border showing.

5.  Mount this onto white card which has been folded and trim around leaving a small border.

6.  Add a ribbon bow to the top corner and some pearls along the top and bottom of the cracker.

I hope you like this project and are inspired to have a go at something similar.

Folk Snowman–Digi Stamp Project

Morning All! It’s Lisa here with a new ‘Digi Stamp Project' and today I’m showcasing the Folk Snowman 4 digi stamp:

    digi Folksnowman 4

I have hit that time of year where I seriously start to work on my Christmas Cards. I like to make several small batches of a range of simple designs as I find these perfect for mailing to distant friends and relatives.

Before I show you my project I thought it would be a perfect time to run through how to resize a digi image and fill a whole page ready for a mini production line on the making!

How to print and resize a digi stamp (Please click on the screen shots to make them larger):

  1. Open up a blank document in Microsoft Word.
  2. Click on ‘Insert’ from the top menu and then click on ‘Pictures’clip_image002
  3. Click on the Folder where you store your digital images and select the image you want to useclip_image004
  4. To change the size of the image either click on the bottom right corner and drag out to make larger or in to make smaller. Or if you know the exact size you require and depending on which version of word you have you may be able to resize the image by entering the size into the toolbar on the top rightclip_image006
  5. Click on the image with the right mouse button and select ‘Copy’ and then click again with the right button and select ‘Paste’ you can keep doing this until your page is full of images.clip_image008image
  6. If you plan to die cut the images after printing remember to space them apart on your page.

Now here is the first card from the batch of Christmas Cards I am making with this image:

Folk Snowman 4 (4)

For the step by step I will give the instructions for making one card but when I’m making a batch of cards I do all the cutting and die cutting in one go, all the colouring in one go, all the stamping in one go… get the idea!!

  • Folk Snowman 4 Digi Stamp

  • Alcohol Markers

  • Kraft Card, White Stamping Card and Gold Glitter Card

  • Scraps of Christmas Patterned Paper

  • Small Fancy Square Die

  • Heart Punch and Square Punch

  • Sentiment Stamp and Brown Ink

Step by Step:

    1. Cut a 9cm square piece of Christmas patterned paper and mat onto Kraft card. Fix to a 10cm square card blank.

    2. Cut a small strip of Kraft card and stamp the sentiment in the centre. Trim the ends into a fishtail using the corner of a square punch. Shape slightly using your thumbs or the barrel of a marker pen and fix to the card blank.

    3. Print the image (as explained above) onto white stamping card and cut out. Don't bother cutting around the heart as this will be covered up.

    4. Colour the image with alcohol markers mat onto a fancy square die cut from Kraft card. Fix to the top centre of the card blank.

    5. Punch a small heart from glitter card and fix over the hear on the image.

I hope you like my project and are inspired to try something similar. My blog is if you would like to see some more projects.

    Thanks for stopping by

    2016 Calendar

Good morning everyone, Marianne here with today's project for you. I made several of these easel calendars last year and as people bought them at fairs thought it time to start making some more. The new toppers from Little Claire are the perfect size and the images are so pretty you would happily look at them all year long. These make a great present.

    You will need
    6"x6" white card blank
Purple papers (I used First Edition New Bloom)
    Calendar tab
    Lilac ribbon
    Lilac card
Selection of purple flowers (I used apple blossom and roses)
    Martha Stewart zigzag border punch

1 Cut two pieces of striped paper, one 13.8cm square and one 13.8cm x 6.5cm. Mount both pieces onto lilac card.
2 Fold the front of the card blank in half to form a mountain fold for the easel.
3 Cut a strip of contrasting paper 13.8cm x 5.5cm. Cut the bottom of the strip with the border punch. Attach to the 13.8cm square paper 8cm from the bottom.
4 Wrap a piece of lilac ribbon in top of this paper, fixing the ends underneath the lilac card. Attach the  square to the bottom section of the card with the stripes going downwards.
5 Wrap a piece of lilac ribbon around the other piece of striped card attaching the ends underneath the lilac card. Attach to the front of the easel card blank.
6 Attach the small strip of patterned paper left from the border punching  1.5cm away from the punched border.
7 Mount the topper onto lilac card and attach to the front as shown. Glue three flowers either side of the topper. Attach the calendar tab level with the top of the punched paper so that it acts as a stopper for the easel.

I hope you enjoy making these. Please visit my blog for daily inspiration.

Thursday Blog Project - Glittery Poinsettia

Morning all, today it is my turn to do the Blog Project.  I hope you like what I have come up with.

I met up with Steve at the Ross Papercraft Show, here in Edinburgh last Saturday and bought some goodies, that I used on this project.

    Little Claire's Products Used

I started off, printing the Poinsettia Digi Stamp onto White Card, I use - Xerox Colotec A4 250gsm White Card.  I Die Cut around the image, and also Die cut a piece of the Glitter Sparkle Sheet to the same size. I coloured the image - using Spectrum Noir blend-able Pencils.  For the Red I used - Nos. 007, 024, 027 and 106, for the Green, I used 044, 045 and 047. After colouring I added the Glitter Sparkle Sheet over the image,  I then die cut a piece of black card onto the the image. I finally added some Gold Glitter Sparkles to the centre of the coloured image.

I then Matted and Layered the Green Snowy Ombre Paper to a piece of Black Card. I cut a piece of the Pink Snowy Ombre Paper and Ran it through my big-shot with the FREE Stars embossing folder that came with a recent Making Cards Magazine - Christmas Edition. I then added Green Ribbon around the layered embossed card.

Using Dewdrops Ink Pad - Cottage Ivy, I stamped the Dinkie Postcard Stamp - Happy Christmas onto a piece of white card, then trimmed around it, took the Cottage Ivy ink pad around the edge of the stamp.  This was then added to the Embossed card with a brad from my stash.

Finally I added the matted and layered image onto the card, then added some Card Candi to the corners to finish.

I hope you like how this card turned out..Thank you for visiting.

Judith who said: I love your outline stickers too. I have the stamp for the manger silhouette, otherwise that would be at the top of my wish list, but I love the cats on the roof watching Santa.

Cally who said: Love these stickers - love the simplicity of them. My favourite is definitely the snowman & Scottie dog.

KT Fit Kitty who said: I love the silhouette cats on roof! I know exactly how I'll use them too! Purr-fect! Thank you so much!
